urga Villas Boutique Hotel was our first project on the island of Bali around the year 2000 and for this reason we hold it in a very special place within our hearts. We worked with a more traditional vernacular approach to the overall design while learning about the local ways of construction & craftsmanship, the indigenous materials and the Balinese architectural principles. The result is a complex of villas which addresses the relationship between indoor & outdoor spaces as well as the relation between local architecture and a contemporary approach when creating the spaces.
